What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer, Automation position at D&W?
POSITION SUMMARY :
The purpose of this position is to work closely with both the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify automation opportunities, focus on new projects that will involve design, programming, simulating, and testing automated processes and machinery. This individual reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Safety
- Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines.
- Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
- Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Understand and identifies Lock-out / Tag-out procedures.
- Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and products with sharp edges. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
