Job Title Product Engineering Manager - Kodiak Job Description Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineering Manager to join our team in Sandpoint, Idaho. This position will direct and coordinate activities of the Kodiak product engineering department to design, manufacture, and test aircraft components, products, and systems by performing the following duties. Job description Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): Lead and direct engineering team in alignment with company goals and objectives Work with department Leads to understand issues in order to prioritize and align resources with company needs Coach and Mentor engineering team to improve overall morale and efficiency Create annual business plans and budgets in support of company goals and objectives Conceive and plan investigations of broad areas of considerable novelty and importance. Reviews and evaluates product request from customer, and formulates conceptual design to meet customer requirements. Coordinates with internal and external people, departments, or other entities, to determine viability, feasibility, producibility, reliability, maintainability, costs, margins, risks, liabilities, of a specific product or technology as relates to the Daher - Kodiak aircraft design. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages employees in the engineering department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the engineering department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Experience with Siemens NX or similar CAD systems MS Office Suite proficiency Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to solve problems and make decisions in a clear and decisive manner on engineering problems and methods. Business degree or related experience a plus Physical While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; is occasionally required to stand and walk; is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; is regularly required to lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting technique is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet. This position requires exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection is required.
