Position Summary:
Well-established trial practice located in downtown Los Angeles seeks an accomplished Snr. Litigation Paralegal possessing at least seven (7) years of experience in civil litigation, criminal defense, or government enforcement actions. Strong technical skills, leadership experience, and familiarity with eDiscovery tools (Relativity, Everlaw, or DISCO) are key.
General Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including discovery, pre-trial, trial, and post-trial.
- Maintain and organize case files, including electronic and hard copy documents.
- Manage court filings, including e-filing in state and federal courts.
- Manage large-scale document productions, including collecting, reviewing, and producing documents.
- Utilize eDiscovery databases (such as Relativity, Everlaw, or DISCO) for document review, coding, and production.
- Implement and oversee document retention and destruction policies.
- Draft and manage discovery requests and responses, including interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms.
- Assist in deposition preparation, including summarizing transcripts and organizing exhibits.
- Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and demonstrative evidence.
- Coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, and trials, including scheduling court reporters and videographers.
- Provide on-site support during trials and hearings, including assisting with exhibit presentation and witness coordination.
- Communicate with clients, experts, and vendors regarding case developments and deadlines.
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Track case deadlines and ensure timely filings.
- Maintain billing records and track billable hours.
- Ensure compliance with firm and court procedures.
- Mentor and train associates, junior paralegals and legal assistants as needed.
Salary/Compensation/Benefits:
