What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Coordinator - Oral Surgery position at D4C Dental?
The Sedation Insurance Coordinator is responsible for verification of patient insurance benefits, along with reviewing treatment plans for submission to insurance companies to obtain pre-treatment estimates. This position is responsible for communicating financial information to patients related to their surgical cost and submission of insurance claims to payers. Other duties include checking oral surgery patients at the front desk, answering incoming calls and scheduling appointments. This support is crucial to the delivery of the Company's mission of helping children achieve a lifetime of great oral health.
Requirements:
Bilingual Preferred
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30a-4:00p with a 30 minute lunch break
Travel Required:May need to travel to Lexington (maybe once every other month) and Greenville (if at all once every quarter maybe) We normally have the schedules middle of the month for the next month. Reimbursement is provided.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- Associate degree or higher, preferred.
- A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required.
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing and insurance experience is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a medical, or dental environment with direct customer service.
JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent customer service oriented and ability to always communicate with a pleasant demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills- must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Communication - effective written and verbal communication is a must with all staff and management.
- Must be able to project a capable and professional image- one that is reflective of Company Values.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills- strong attention to detail, be able to multitask and perform job duties in a timely manner.
- Must have PC skills with an ability to learn and successfully use new software programs as required. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office is required, as well as other dental software.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Dental Office Environment
- Work hours vary based on the specific office schedule and/or business needs
- Walking, sitting, standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds and be able to twist, turn, bend and stoop
