Position: RISE Administrative Assistant - TEMPORARY POSITION THROUGH JUNE 2025
Under the supervision of the Principal, the RISE Administrative Assistant is a full-time position that performs highly complex and responsible administrative and clerical work; responsible for board policy updates, compliance support and submission, clerical support for RISE Board meetings; and other related duties as required. Performs a wide variety of clerical work for the school sites and other related duties.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Handles the day to day clerical needs for the Principal and general support for the leadership team;
- Clerical lead for RISE Board meetings, including attending meetings, preparing the RISE Board agenda on Board on Track, agenda packet sent to Board Directors and leadership team, taking minutes and other related work;
- Acts as an assistant to the Board of Directors in all areas required by the Board;
- Coordinate the revision, adoption, posting, and research of Board Policies and other correspondence needed to adopt policies;
- Updates information on websites;
- Clerical lead on all compliance tasks for LACOE, including all staff, instructional and other submission of information to LACOE;
- Answers a wide variety of questions regarding each site’s schedules, events, procedures, and practices;
- Supports leadership in monitoring timekeeping information;
- Supports leadership in overseeing the organization and clerical support of the special education program;
- Operates portable radio for the purpose of transmitting urgent requests/information to administration;
- Assists with parent/teacher/student needs, as needed;
- Performs general clerical functions (scheduling, copying, faxing, mailing, etc.);
- Prepares, stamps, mails outgoing correspondence for the Principal and leadership team;
- Prepares and maintains records and files for staff and students, as needed;
- Greets visitors and schedules meetings;
- Type letters, memos, bulletins, announcements, newsletters, publications, forms, etc.;
- Uses various software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software;
- Reads and analyzes incoming memos, submissions, distributing them as needed;
- Makes travel arrangements for the leadership team;
- Performs office duties that include ordering supplies and managing a records database;
- Maintains Principal's calendar, makes appointments, schedules conferences and meetings;
- Responsible for office coverage in the event that other staff is unavailable;
- Experience working remote and on site;
- Other tasks as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or some combination of education and experience preferred;
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred;
- Skills desired: Ability to deal effectively with the public both in person and via telephone and video conferencing, excellent English usage, filing skills, organization, time management, scheduling, knowledge of Microsoft Office and school software programs.
Compensation: $52,066- $64,035, depending on education and experience. This position includes benefits.
