Senior Accountant

Summary Description

As our Senior Accountant, you will focus on driving the US accounting team through the processes of Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Record to Report, & Treasury for the US and Canada. You will lead one direct report (with the potential to grow the team as we grow DAB US) and work cross functionally across the organization to gather information to complete the month end close. You'll connect in with our global team and HQ and be a key player across the finance organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Processes:

• Manage AP operations, AR operations, GL operations, Fixed Assets accounting, Treasury transactions, entity close (month, annual) reporting, credit and collection, accounting and other financial activities
• Drive operational changes to reduce processing time and improve quality in Finance activities through global standardized, simplified and automated finance processes/best practices designed by Group Reporting, Process and Tax Dept.
• Responsible for submitting the monthly financial reporting to the group on 2nd working day of each month (5 p.m. Italian time)
• Responsible for reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Coordinate and support external consultants for statutory accounts and taxes preparation and submission (both direct and indirect taxes: sales tax, business tax, corporate tax, etc.)
• Monitor compliance with statutory accounting principles and company procedures (Group Accounting Manual and appendices, etc.)
• Responsible for the implementation of strong financial controls and guardians of business controls. Facilitator for the implementation of the Internal Controls at company level
• Reference person for customers and suppliers, & all internal depts on accounting topics
• Supervise the relationships with the credit insurance company, Regional Finance BP and customers/suppliers
• Supervise, coordinate procedures and prepare analysis
• Responsible for the application of the Group Credit Policy

• Establish a team of specialists in accounting that work as a team and apply the statutory and group accounting principles
• Install a mindset of working as a global team with focus on global processes
• Leading the team and ensuring a high performing organization with high motivation and satisfaction

Other:

• Be part of assigned projects as team member
• Ad hoc task and analysis agreed with the Head of Group Accounting
• Ensure that a high standard of ethical norms are embedded into all processes and tasks throughout the job and adherence to a DAB code of conduct and internal control standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or other relevant field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as Sr Accountant: working for an international company or worked as an auditor preferred
• Strong organizational skills and ability to identify priorities independently
• Strong personality and possess high drive and skills in coaching the team
• Ability to delegate and motivate others
• High ethical norms
• Self-motivated and participate in daily routines independently
• Project oriented, with good social and communication skills. Willingness and ability to work with a matrix organization in an international environment
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and dealing with stressful situation
• Knowledge of ERP & BI system
• Excellent skills in Excel
• Ability to influence relevant stakeholders with strong arguments, presentation of facts & data and good communication skills
• Strong technical and analytic skills and attention to detail
• Travel: approximately one to two weeks per year to headquarters in Italy
