Position Title : Project Development Manager (School Construction Projects) – Owners Team Client / Program : Los Angeles Unified School District – Project Execution Position Location : Los Angeles Area Position Start Date : Approximately March to April Salary $210,000 to $216,000 per year as a full-time employee, plus full company benefits, including 10 paid vacation days, 11 paid holidays, and 5 paid sick days.Company medical insurance and 401K plan DACM Project Management, Inc. is a full-service program and project construction management company established in 1987. Position Overview : The successful candidate for this position will be assigned to the LAUSD Facilities Program Position Functions : Plan and coordinate the execution of pre-construction activities associated with thepreparation for the building of new schools and modernization projectsResponsible for the scope, schedule and budget, and overall success of multiple, new andmodernization, school projectsResolve complex planning, design and construction project-related issues, disputes anddisagreementsDevelop, assign and monitor performance of Assistant Facility Development Managers(AFDM), Design Managers (DM) and Design professionals relative to assigned projectsReport on project budget, schedule and issues. Provide information and analysis of projectissues to Departmental, Branch and Board representativesReview status and overall planning, design and construction project progress relative tosubmittal schedules. Review project through all development phases, and assesses status,progress and potentialCoordinate with representatives from various utility and government agencies to obtaintimely action on successive phases of project completionAssist project team staff with A / E contracts, bid and contract planningReview and verify Design Professional contract scope, fees and applications for payment,and perform overall fiscal management of multiple projectsProvide functional direction over areas of responsibility including project schedules, costcontrol, dispute resolution, contract administration and quality controlCoordinate project activities, requirements, and schedules with other District organizationalbranches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Designand A / E Technical Support, Project Execution, Facilities Contract Administration, InspectionUnit, Maintenance and Operations, local Educational Service Centers and site personnelDevelop and recommend internal policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned Minimum Required Qualifications : Required Experience : Ten (10) years of experience managing the planning, design, construction and coordinationof capital projects Five (5) years of the above experience in educational facility construction or public worksprojects Additional Preferred Experience : Experience with scoping and planning of new construction and / or modernization projectsExperience with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction / design processes.Experience with LEED and / or Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) projects.Experience with the development of major facilities (CEQA, agency approvals, coordinationwith City and County agencies).Experience with both project delivery and procurement methods for public projectsExperience with community engagement processes and strong communication skills, bothoral and writtenExperience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)Experience in Formal Construction Partnering Required Education : Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in architecture,engineering or construction management Preferred Licenses and Certificates : A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board orProfessional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager CertificationInstitute (CMCI) LEED Professional Accreditation
