Job Summary
Responsible for supporting business and agricultural customers by providing direct administrative support to the lending staff and playing a critical role in the execution of the Bank credit and lending process. As a Loan Assistant, you will interact, support, and build relationships with a variety of internal and external clients. Essential Functions
- Understand lending policies, procedures and regulations, and perform duties in such a way as to maintain compliance with stated standards
- Act as intermediary credit process expert between Banker and Loan Processing or Credit Operations
- Participate actively in lending workflow to ensure quality and timely service to Bank loan customers
- Order loan documents, review loan documents for accuracy and completeness, print loan documents for banker review, and ensure all documents are properly executed by banker and customer
- Set up, manage, and provide ongoing maintenance to electronic customer files in accordance with Bank guidelines
- Follow up on outstanding items, request documentation, and provide updates as documentation is received
- Manage the IMM E-sign for documents
- Disburse loan proceeds
- Provide applicable disclosures in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor and manage new, renewed, and paid loan report to ensure timely processing
- Monitor and manage reports to provide timely feedback and follow-up on any necessary or outstanding items
- Promote and implement the Bank’s service philosophies
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Three years of general banking experience; or prior lending or loan processing experience preferred
- Knowledge of Federal Banking Regulations
- Requires good organizational, interpersonal communications, and customer relations skills
- Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to do simple math and carry out written instructions
- Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform essential functions of the position
