Job Summary:
This position provides guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to the Production Team. The Team Leader will communicate all necessary information to the supervisor and management. The Team Leader will supervise and lead an assigned team through the daily activities in the warehouse to ensure smooth operations and efficient completion of projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Daily Attendance:
- a. Roll must be taken at the beginning of the shift and maintained throughout the shift, for any early outs.
- b. Attendance sheets shall be kept within reach in case of evacuation.
- c. Attendance sheets are to be turned in daily to supervisor.
- d. Assure team members have on all required PPE.
2. Machine checklist:
- a. The checklist on the side of each CRT machine must be filled out.
- b. The twice-hourly checklist must be filled out twice an hour.
3. Scrap Reporting:
- a. Scrap shall be placed in the red scrap tote.
- b. At the end of shift the production lead is responsible for taking scrap to scrap trailer.
- c. Both production and quality lead are responsible for accuracy of scrap report.
- d. Red bins are to be emptied for the incoming shift. Quality supervisor or Rojas is responsible for scrap report collection.
4. Team Meeting:
- a. The Production Lead will have a daily meeting to discuss the previous day’s performance.
- b. Quality Leads will discuss the previous day's performance and issues.
5.Coverage:
- a. Understanding the coverage paperwork
- b. Validating that finished goods (FG) are in the appropriates shipping staging areas.
- c. Validate schedule versus coverage report.
6. 5S:
- a. Cleanliness of areas and machinery
- i. No trash on floor
- ii. No blocked aisles
- b. The area has been restocked with WIP and raw materials.
7. Training:
- a. All OJT sheets are completed for new operators.
- b. OJT sheets are completed anytime an operator moves to a new machine.
8. Monitoring:
- a. Ensure employees are working safely and efficiently while focusing on quality.
- b. Know where your employees are. We have a big plant and employees are spread out but you should be making enough rounds to notice someone missing for 10 minutes.
9. Mentoring:
- a. Take time to encourage and train your employees.
- b. Your employees reflect on you and the time and energy you put into each of them.
10. Set the example!
- a. Ghandhi said “Be the change you want to see in people.”
- b. You must care about the people and DSC.
