What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Services Instructor position at DAEOC?
We invite you to join Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, as part of our Adult Education program. The EMS Instructor will be responsible for teaching EMT courses, preparing students to obtain a Missouri EMT license. The applicant must be mission driven and customer service oriented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares EMT course materials and assignments.
- Teaches EMT courses in accordance with national standards. Instruction may include skill labs, coordinating patient care scenarios, content delivery.
- Demonstrates practical skills including: patient transportation, emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Remains current with State and local EMS requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Serves as an instructor/facilitator in skill labs and patient care scenarios using Program established teaching, evaluation, and testing tools.
- Maintains accurate documentation of student performance.
- Evaluates the work of each student providing assistance and additional instruction as needed.
- Interacts positively with team members and students.
Education and/or Experience and Professional Requirements:
- Current EMT certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- 120 hours as an EMT Instructor Aide
- Clean Background Check
- Must have successfully passed the NAEMSE exam or be willing to complete exam upon hire
- 3 years as an EMT or Paramedic.
- Valid Missouri Driver’s License

Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings. Must be able to travel the six-county area occasionally and go out-of-area on a periodic basis.
