What are the responsibilities and job description for the SkillUP Contract Specialist position at DAEOC?
We invite you to join Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, as part of our Delta Adult Education program. This position supports the work of DAEOC, a community action agency committed to empowering people to make positive change. The SkillUp Contract Specialist has overall responsibility to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the SkillUp program. The primary areas will be overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with funding source directives, oversight of the program and participants, and ensuring billing is submitted in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluates situation, determines client needs, develops a time-line consisting of long & short term goals and implements a plan of action with the client to be followed.
- Links all available resources (business, industry, volunteer agencies, educational institutions, etc.) for the purpose of assisting individual clients in all possible ways.
- Ensures all program clients are eligible to participate in SkillUp Programs
- Ensures client information is entered in computer for MIS.
- Maintains files for all SkillUp Program clients and track progress of client
- Submits monthly requisitions for assistance to A/P and submits billing to appropriate funding source.
- Attends regional, state and national conferences as necessary
- Collect all referrals for SkillUp Programs and ensures client eligibility.
- Seeks and applies for grants for leveraging and improvement funds.
- Submits ROMA report information to CSBG Contract Specialist as needed.
Education and/or Experience and Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B. S/A.) in Social Work, Business or a related field
- 4 to 5 years related experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Clean Background Check and Drug/Alcohol Test
- Valid Missouri Driver's License
Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to travel the six-county area occasionally and go out-of-area on a periodic basis. Must have a “smart phone” capable of accessing Corporate email.
