Hedge Fund Controller

The firm is seeking a highly qualified Controller to manage accounting and operational functions in our Dallas office. This role offers a clear path to a CFO position for the right candidate.
Job Title: Controller
Reporting to the Chief OperatingOfficer
Responsibilities:
- Perform shadow accounting for SMA investors (or any future funds) to confirm monthly fund NAV calculations.
- Conduct daily trade, cash, and position reconciliations.
- Work with fund administrators and prime brokers to ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Monitor portfolio positions and trade allocations for compliance with regulations and investment policies.
- Maintain the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the management company (QuickBooks).
- Coordinate with the tax accounting firm for timely and accurate K-1s and other tax-related matters.
- Reconcile cash transactions and prepare cash forecasts.
- Approve, process, and record accounts payable and other expenses.
- Prepare periodic investor reporting and support marketing efforts, including pitchbooks and client materials.
- Handle special projects as required.
Requirements:
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, fund administration, or asset management.
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and QuickBooks.
- Experience with Enfusion is a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
