You'll work a consistent schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional needs outside of regular business hours. Flexibility is essential, as weather or emergencies may call for some after-hours dedication to keep operations running smoothly.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS OUR FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will ensure Daggett County's facilities and grounds are safe, clean, and fully operational. You'll start your day inspecting key systems like HVAC, and electrical equipment, making necessary adjustments to ensure everything is functioning at its best. Preventive maintenance will be a daily focus, as you tackle tasks ranging from calibrating thermostats to maintaining electronic locks and backup generators.
Your role will also include plenty of variety. One moment, you'll be clearing snow from walkways or maintaining irrigation systems in the parks and cemeteries; the next, you'll be repairing plumbing fixtures or overseeing fire safety inspections. Seasonal projects like interior and exterior painting or grounds beautification will keep things interesting, and you'll be the go-to person for custodial and deep-cleaning tasks when needed. Throughout it all, you'll maintain detailed logs, manage inventory, and ensure the Facilities Manager has everything needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Here's what we need from you:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of training provided through trade school, vocational centers, apprenticeships, or professionally sponsored workshops related to commercial building maintenance, environmental control systems, construction, or maintenance
- 3 years of experience with custodial work, HVAC, and building maintenance requiring skill in carpentry, plumbing, electrical wiring, electronics, and other related fields (OR an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Ability to move objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Valid driver's license
You may be required to become certified in energy management.
