Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, Payroll Clerk processes the Companies bi-weekly payrolls and maintains the payroll records while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Process bi-weekly payrolls (Paychex): Ensuring that employees are paid on time and in the correct amount. This includes calculating wages, commissions, MBOs, overtime, bonuses, union dues and deductions.

b. Union/Non-Union Payroll
· Processing checks: Preparing and distributing paper checks and direct deposit remittances.
· Maintaing payroll records: Keeping track of employee’s payroll records, including names, addresses, and tax forms.
· Setting up direct deposit: Collecting banking information and setting up direct deposit for employees.
· Setting up employee deductions: Processing employee wage levies and child support deductions.
· Managing benefits: Working with the HR department to ensure the accuracy of benefit processing.
· Handling employee inquiries: Responding to questions from employees about their payroll.
· Reconciling: Reconciling the general ledger with payroll transactions.
· Auditing: Conducting audits of payroll records and responding to Union payroll audits
· Ensuring compliance: Ensuring that the organization complies with tax laws and payroll regulations.
· Staying up to date: Keeping up to date with changes in labor laws and payroll regulations.

Education and/or Experience
Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma with coursework in bookkeeping, accounting or payroll and at least five years related experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
