Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and developing and following quality control functions over financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Participates in month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Research / post accruals, maintains and reconciles balance sheet accounts, and conduct variance analysis
- Audits financial transactions, verifies and analyzes business records and procedures
- Assists with quarterly, interim and year-end audits
- Participates in JSOX compliance as a Process Owner, Document Creator, or Internal Inspector
- Participates in monthly financial review meetings and perform variance analysis of actual to budget and/or forecast results for management
- Participates in development and review of annual operating budgets
- Assist with ad hoc requests as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting strongly preferred or equivalent experience
- Computer skills including MS Office
- Knowledge of full-cycle accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Must be willing to take on additional responsibilities and grow with the team
