Daikin Applied is seeking a talented and eager Parts Distribution Manager to direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of our parts distribution warehouse. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!
Location: Dayton, Ohio – In Office
What you will do:
- Ensures that facility budget and SLA targets meet or are favorable; monitor spending and manage to budget
- Drives maximum utilization of resources. This includes people, processes and technology for the facility. Typically oversees 60 employees including supervisors, hourly associates, and contract labor
- Provides the direction in leading the safety, quality, cost, and productivity goals
- Recommends distribution policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
- Prepares maintains and communicates all operational goals while ensuring all operational procedures are being followed per company guidelines
- Collaborates with leadership in the development of long-term operational plans
- Monitors space utilization, optimization, and layout to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
- Manages coaches, mentors, and develops staff (direct and indirect) to achieve objectives; conduct performance reviews. Conducts corrective counseling as necessary
- Participates in the recruitment and new hire onboarding process while fostering DAA's People Centered Management culture
- Works closely with human resources to lead team with integrity and establishes a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment
- Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., facility layout changes, new WMS functionality, facility relocation, major repairs, etc.). Includes testing, training, trouble shooting, and liaising with IT to resolve all issues
- Establishes new processes that improves efficiency and effectiveness of the operational management and fulfillment functions to lower cost and the improve customer experience
- Utilizes lean methodology, while partnering with the Continuous Improvement Manager, for process improvement and maintains daily coaching to sustain distribution optimization
- Develops cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and productivity standards
- Plans, monitors, and analyzes key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
- Transforms data into meaningful information and define activities that will drive improvement in warehouse/distribution operations
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 4-6 years related experience with 2 years of people leadership experience
- Growth oriented with high energy level for process and performance improvement; strong attention to detail, proven track record of continuous improvement in a distribution setting
- Effective team building and mentoring skills
- Effective communications skills (written & verbal) with all levels of the organization
- Strong computer skills
- Lean manufacturing principles a plus
