Logistics Supervisor 1- 2nd Shift

• Check operation status report for daily shipments and future shipments to establish production levels required to meet shipping date.
• Review shipping notices, bill of lading, invoices, and orders to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping needs.
• Monitor onsite and distribution warehouse inventories, both supplies and finished goods.
• Plan and schedule workflow (weekly forecast) for each related department and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequence and lead times.
• Revise production schedules and priorities as result of unforeseen conditions such as equipment failure or operating problems.
• Consult with engineering and maintenance personnel as well as other resource avenues relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
• Manages logistic incident investigations and implements corrective action measures in line with job responsibilities and results of the investigation.
• Provide a communication network between direct reports and middle and upper management.
• Encourage and lead team members to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices for their benefit.
• Ensure that product quality, production efficiencies and overall productivity meet or exceeds established standards and is directly accountable for expenditures exceeding budgeted levels.

Knowledge & Skills:

• 5 plus years of progressive experience preferably within a high volume, distribution center environment
• 2 plus years of leadership experience
• Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels and within established timelines.
• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems within manufacturing environments
• Intermediate MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.
• Experience with MAPICs
• Excellent communication skills, including collaboration
• Effective relationship management skills for both internal and external customers
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to react quickly to resolve problems
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, high-energy individual who can multitask well
• Must be quality conscious, process and customer oriented
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives and able to influence across non-direct reports on cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with 5S, Lean principles and Kaizen
• Must be able to work in inclement weather, weekends, late evenings, and overtime during the peak season

Experience:

• 4 years of experience
• Bachelor’s preferred, not required
• Production experience is required and continued education is considered a plus. Must be quality conscious, process and customer oriented
• Intermediate MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication and division
• Must be able to work in inclement weather, weekends, late evenings, and overtime during the peak season
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with emphasis on customer service
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to react quickly to resolve problems
