Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and educational programs that foster learning and development among participants. This role requires a strong commitment to creating a positive learning environment and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners. Our participants range in age from 10-50yrs old. Most are currently between 20-50yrs old. We typically have 2-5 participants per class. All participants have a disability; cognitive impairment, seizure disorder, CP, Autism, ADHD, etc. Currently programing is Tuesday-Saturday 10a-3p. This is subject to change for the spring-fall with more hours being available. Programing focuses on social skills, cooking skills, cleaning skills, gardening and animal care. This is a farm based program featuring a large garden, chickens, donkeys, goats, and sheep. Participants help with animal care, maintaining a garden, and selling vegetables, eggs, and plants.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement program curricula that align with educational goals and objectives.
- Facilitate interactive lessons and activities that encourage participation and engagement.
- Assess participant progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance program offerings and share best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and participant feedback.
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and stakeholders regarding program updates and participant progress.
- Providing care for the animals
- Maintaining a large garden and caring for plants
- Administering meds to clients
- Communicating with, staff, parents, case managers, and participants
Skills
- Understanding of various disabilities.
- Able to work with multiple participants at a time.
- Must work with animals and have a basic understanding or willingness to learn about farm animals.
- Be able to manage a large garden and other plants.
- Understanding of how to manage various behavior needs.
- Be able to physically lift and be on your feet for 8 hours a day.
- Be able to withstand being outside in various weather conditions for an extended period of time.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
- Ability to create an inclusive learning environment that accommodates various learning styles.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in planning and executing programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with participants and foster a supportive community.

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
