Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Mortgage Services to lead and optimize the collections strategy for our vacation ownership loan portfolio. This role is responsible for managing delinquency rates, implementing collection strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maximizing loan recovery efforts while maintaining a strong customer experience.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mortgage collections within the vacation ownership or consumer finance industry, a strong leadership background, and the ability to drive performance through process improvements and compliance oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Mortgage Operations & Loan Portfolio Management

• Oversee origination, underwriting, and servicing of timeshare/vacation ownership loans.
• Manage loan portfolio performance, focusing on collections, risk mitigation, and revenue growth.
• Develop and implement loan modification and retention programs to enhance customer satisfaction and minimize defaults.
• Lead collection strategies to manage delinquencies, reduce defaults, and improve recovery rates.
• Monitor key performance metrics (delinquency, charge-offs, repayment trends) to drive strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with third-party agencies and legal teams to enhance recovery efforts.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and industry regulations, including FDCPA, CFPB, RESPA, TILA, and consumer lending laws.
• Conduct audits and implement internal controls to mitigate risk and maintain compliance with lending and collection standards.
• Work closely with legal and compliance teams to stay ahead of regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to collection processes.

Process Improvement & Technology Integration

• Identify and implement AI-driven collection tools, CRM integrations, and automation strategies to enhance efficiency.
• Optimize collection workflows, improving communication channels such as phone, email, text, and digital outreach strategies.
• Leverage data analytics to refine collection strategies and improve recovery forecasting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to align financing and collections strategies with customer acquisition goals.
• Work closely with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate reporting on delinquency rates, loan performance, and loss reserves.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 years of mortgage collections experience in vacation ownership, timeshare, or consumer finance.
• Proven success in managing delinquencies, charge-offs, and improving collections performance.
• Expertise in lending regulations, loan servicing technologies, and digital outreach strategies.
• Strong leadership in managing high-performing teams with analytical skills in forecasting and risk assessment.
• Preferred experience in timeshare financing, asset-backed lending, loan securitization, and structured finance.
• Familiarity with CRM systems, AI-driven collections tools, and capital market strategies.
• Ability to travel for business operations and lender meetings.
