What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Material Handlers Shipping and Receiving position at Daily's Premium Meats?
SUMMARY : Serves as a Material Handler in all stages of areas of the -by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following : Other duties may be assigned.
Follow proper department procedures outlined in Daily's training manuals :
- Ability to Operate Powered Industrial Equipment
- Ability to understanding the processes of building pallets
- Loading and unloading of trucks (process and procedure)
- Repetitive motion of moving or stacking cases
- Receive raw materials and finish goods (process and procedure)
- Ability to understand / participate in inventory audits
- Ability to properly use company scan guns and software
- Working in a refrigerated environment
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the work environment, knowledge, skill, and / or ability required or preferred. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred. Ability to write simple correspondence preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and management. Bilingual skills preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Successful candidate will have to stand / walk on concrete floors for 10 hours per day, 6 days per week. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally lift up to 65 pounds and sometimes push / and or move up to 100 pounds. Candidate must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT : While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to cold, wet and / or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is such that employees will have to wear PPE while working.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE : The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Schedule may include mandatory Sundays.
