What are the responsibilities and job description for the FSQA Coordinator 2nd Shift position at Daily's Premium Meats?
SUMMARY : Responsible for ensuring food safety and quality standards in the Daily's processing plant by performing pre-operational inspections, work in process and final product inspection, quality checks, SSOP, customer requirements, company policies and procedures. To monitor and perform verifications of critical control points throughout the manufacturing process ensuring strict adherence to the company's written HACCP program. Recommends and oversees proper corrective actions are initiated and documented where required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following : Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform pre-operational and operational sanitary inspection of production and auxiliary areas in the plant.
- Perform verification inspection and testing at the designated frequencies of following tasks : product temperatures, injection tests, net weight checks, product quality checks, label verification, metal detection and sell by verification. Document findings and report any issues to appropriate personnel.
- Verify employees' adherence to GMPs, SSOP, and company policies.
- Monitor and verification of critical control points throughout production departments.
- Perform monitoring activities in accordance with documented frequencies.
- Place non-conforming product on QA Hold status.
- Document HACCP corrective actions for non-conforming product to fulfill the following requirements :

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Minimum 2 years Quality Assurance Experience in meat processing or food safety certification, Certified in all production areas. Working knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of GMPs, USDA guidelines, HACCP regulations and company policies.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS : Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents in the English language such as software documentation, operating and maintenance manuals, general business periodicals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and key files. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, have the ability to prepare reports and business correspondence, effectively present information and be able to effectively respond to questions from customers, vendors and internal stakeholders.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations. Analytical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills, ability to assess observations and communicate results.
REASONING ABILITY AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply mathematical formulas to practical situations. Analytical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills, ability to assess observations and communicate results.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about the facility. Sitting 10%, Walking 60% (concrete, wet surfaces), Standing 30% (concrete, wet surfaces), Lifting - up to 40 lbs., Near acuity (clarity of vision at 20 inches or less), Talking and hearing, Frequent bi-lateral use of hands.
BACKUP : In the event the FSQA Coordinator is unable to perform his / her job function, the FSQA Supervisor can step in.
