Summary

The VMS Business Development Representative is responsible for selling our vendor management system (VMS) technology to existing and new prospective customers, helping them streamline their processes and improve their workforce management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of staffing industry operations, technology solutions, and vendor management systems, combined with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prospect and Generate Leads : Identify and develop new business opportunities within the staffing industry by targeting companies with opportunity to optimize their vendor management processes
  • Present Solutions : Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients and internal teams, showcasing the features and benefits of our VMS technology tailored to their staffing needs.
  • Build Relationships : Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers within existing and prospective customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution : Create and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to meet or exceed sales and profit targets, utilizing various channels, including cold calling, personal / virtual calls, direct mail, face-to-face customer, etc
  • Negotiation and Closing : Lead negotiations and close sales contracts, ensuring alignment with both the client’s needs and company goals.
  • Market Insights : Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to provide valuable insights for product enhancements and sales strategies.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams (e.g., product, marketing, customer success, field teams) to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and ongoing customer support.
  • Sales Reporting : Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline management, and performance metrics in internal Surge systems.
  • All other duties that may arise to assist in the success of Surge

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in work experience and education required.
  • Previous experience in sales, human resources, or a service industry required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and deals simultaneously with a focus on achieving sales targets.
  • Proven track record for successful business development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tailor solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong PC skills and the ability to navigate within internal systems
  • Proficient in analyzing and evaluating individuals, data, and situations to determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to understand and accurately apply basic math skills.
  • Previous experience in B2B sales, ideally in selling SaaS or technology solutions preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of Vendor Management Systems (VMS), Staffing, and Workforce Management solutions preferred but not required.
