Job Description
Reporting to Head of Finance North America, this role plays a critical role in delivering our financial and KPI reporting across multiple dmg media brands. Areas of responsibility include preparing, collecting and interpreting financial information, preparing budgets, reports, forecasts, and accounting administration.
Primary Responsibilities
You will be the lead contact for delving into the root causes of problems, unlocking operational efficiencies, driving improvement to processes and delivering strong financial control. Key responsibilities include:
- Business partner in a pro-active, commercially astute manner – develop expertise in relevant business areas, understanding key performance drivers and relevant industry context; build strong relationships, trust, and credibility with senior business stakeholders; be the voice of finance, supporting and advising on commercial opportunities and issues
- Explore and analyse data, extracting valuable insights to enable informed decision making –proactively explore data, evaluate financial performance, and analyse key performance metrics to support the delivery of in-year targets; identify, evaluate, and drive actions on risks and opportunities
- Drive the evolution of management information and analysis – monitor and deliver high quality, timely management information; develop the financial acumen of the commercial team; partner with our Business Intelligence Unit to drive improvements to management information and business intelligence tools
- Take ownership of budgets, forecasts, and business plans – provide financial leadership and analytical support to help shape business activity at a strategic and operational level; model scenarios, advise on key assumptions and trade-offs and support the alignment of resources to strategic priorities; drive the simplification and automation of financial modelling
- Deliver/ review the monthly close; drive continuous improvement of processes, data integrity & strong financial control – work with data source owners to ensure that key data is accurate, automated, and timely; work with the Shared Service Function to deliver accurate management accounts and month-end reports; monitor and improve the integrity of financial processes and the operation of an effective internal control framework

To improve your chances of being successful, relevant experience and qualifications will likely include:
- 2 Years experience across accounting, audit, commercial or strategic financial analyst roles.
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Naturally inquisitive, with high quality analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; an ability to form strong relationships to challenge and influence assertively and cooperatively
- Confidence to challenge the status quo, think innovatively and drive change
- Action-oriented; ability to successfully balance multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines managing different stakeholders
- Self-motivated with a desire to constantly learn and develop
- Quality time management to deliver self-started work/ process improvement
- Flexible and comfortable working outside a standard structure/ framework
- A team player able and willing to deliver beyond their personal brief
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically strong competency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Further exposure to different IT systems is a benefit
