About the Role - A transportation dispatcher at Daim is the key intermediary between the driver and customer service. The dispatcher matches drivers with loads taking into account HOS as well as efficiency and company revenue. Coordinates the movement of tractor-trailer trucks and full truckload shipments. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities -
Dispatching : Assign and monitor full truckload shipments (FTL) to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
Route Planning : Optimize delivery routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, considering traffic, weather, and regulatory requirements.
Communication : Maintain clear and constant communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams to relay updates and address any issues.
Documentation : Prepare and maintain accurate dispatch logs, shipping documents, and compliance paperwork.
Problem-Solving : Resolve any transportation-related issues that may arise during transit, such as delays or unexpected detours.
Scheduling : Coordinate driver schedules and shift changes to ensure adequate coverage for both inbound and outbound loads.
Customer Service : Work closely with clients to confirm shipment details, address concerns, and provide status updates as needed.
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure that drivers and shipments comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including hours of service (HOS), weight limits, and safety requirements.
Reporting : Track delivery times, vehicle maintenance schedules, and any other relevant metrics for performance evaluation.
Qualifications -
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
Minimum [2] years of experience in transportation dispatch or logistics.
Strong understanding of full truckload (FTL) shipping and tractor-trailer operations.
Familiarity with transportation management software (TMS) or similar tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
