The role combines process improvement, component lifecycle management, and strategic cross-functional sourcing projects. The team lead will supervise a team of embedded experts and work closely with all Engineering departments as well as Finance, Purchasing, and Product Strategy. The ideal candidate will have a wide Engineering network, be well-versed in PAR development and the commercial vehicle development system, experience within DTNA supply chain, continuous improvement experience, process improvement, prior supervisory experience, as well as global Daimler experience. Specific skills required for this role are: cost optimization, project budgeting, project management, procurement, component lifecycle management, process improvement, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500 - $126,000 USD
Pay Offered Dependent On Knowledge, Skills, And experience

What You Drive At DTNA
- Lead CCI Team and manage input of new CCI initiatives to business case building, manage CCI initiative pipeline helping create synergies among Engineering
- Collaborate and represent Engineering cost optimization related topics to Manufacturing, Quality, Controlling, Purchasing, and Sales & Marketing
- Coach, mentor and support direct and indirect team members
- Collaborate with Daimler Truck Global Team to develop a global lifecycle management workstream for end of life components
- Support obsolescence parts management and evaluate risks with new project introductions
- Align with Engineering and Purchasing to optimize cost and mitigate supply chain disruptions
- Work closely with internal partners to streamline and optimize CCI workflow, ensuring CCI initiatives can be implemented efficiently and effectively; develop KPI to track progress and drive results
- Act as Engineering Lead to Engineering Strategic Sourcing & Risk Mitigation Workstream
- Work closely with Purchasing and Product Strategy to ensure DTNA sourcing strategy aligns with global challenges
- Collaborate with Purchasing to develop an effective workflow with criteria to manage “at risk” components
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Technical Engineering, Commercial or related field required and prefer 10 years of relevant experience, MBA preferred
- Strong understanding of Technical Design concepts and impact to proposed CCI change
- Strong leadership skills to manage large complex projects
- Strong knowledge of Heavy duty truck Industry
- Must have the ability to network and interface with DTNA Engineering departments, Finance & Controlling, and Purchasing and work within the structures and processes within DTNA
- Must be well organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks and work professionally with various levels of DTNA management
- Proven ability to handle ambiguity work collaborative with internal and external partners, influence cross-functional teams
- Comfortable communicating directly with senior executives and working in a fast-paced VUCA environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and, oral and written communication skills
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment

- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
- 5 years of experience in business development or partnership roles, ideally in the transportation industries
- Knowledge of Daimler policies, technical and corporate compliance
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills with technical, contractual, and financial issues
- Deep understanding of relevant DTNA project management processes, agile software and vehicle development process
- Global Daimler experience, cross cultural and multilingual knowledge
