We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.
Mechatronics is responsible of the design and development of wiring & controls for all chassis electrical and electronic systems for both current product and new product development for Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) products.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $30 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Creation of wiring diagrams and electrical schematics needed for the integration vehicle control systems into the chassis electrical system
- Creation of hardware and software specifications to integrate the different powertrain features into the chassis.
- Definition and documentation of vehicle integration requirements for the mounting and packaging of all the powertrain related electrical and electronic components (ECUs, sensors, fuses, relays, etc.)
- Creation and maintenance of bill of materials (BOMs) for powertrain related functional modules
- Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure that the integration of the powertrain mechatronics components meet supplier's requirements.
- Creation of test plans to ensure that powertrain control system meets the integration and vehicle level performance requirements,
- Support construction of test vehicles and pre-production units
- Support maintaining project timelines and effectively communicate status of deliverables
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last 12 months.
- Working knowledge of Siemens NX software preferred
- Working knowledge of Capital Harness (CHS) or similar automotive wiring design tools is preferred
- Experience with the design of validation of automotive systems is preferred
- Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
- Understanding of engineering processes & downstream impacts
- Understanding of commercial vehicle market is preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Solid organizational skills

- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
