Inside the Role The Parts Distribution Center (PDC) Network is a fast paced distribution operation which provides direct aftermarket parts support to dealer and distributor locations. This is a three shift operation consisting of leadership positions, hourly office positions and hourly shop floor employees. The North American Distribution network consists of 11 PDC's strategically located throughout the United States and Canada. This operation consistently yields world class, industry leading metrics in safety, quality and productivity and is dedicated to a Continuous Improvement philosophy and culture. What You Drive at DTNA Responsible for all Parts Distribution Center (PDC) operations, administrative activities, employee relations and dealer satisfaction (parts delivery) through managing and delegating responsibility and authority to employees ensuring suitable maintenance of all warehouse assets/facilities; material inventory control Organizational leadership that result in providing the right part at the right time – meeting all customer parts requirements in the most timely and efficient manner within budget/target agreement specifications Manage the efforts of all functional supervision to ensure a safe, efficient and profitable overall operation with uninterrupted parts service activities to customers Manage and direct all phases of PDC’s accounting and order processing activities including inventory control, data transmittal and internal control over PDC assets to ensure timely and efficient accounting information and control processes are followed Manager will oversee all related procurement responsibilities for supplies, purchases services and other non-labor budget items necessary to operate the business Manage PDC Operations including receiving, warehousing, picking, packing and shipping of parts and accessories and the allocation and distribution of materials including routing and tracing of parts through the delegation of responsibility and authority that provides the most efficient and economical services in meeting customer requirements Control overall plant operations through comparative analysis of statistical reports in Safety, Quality, Cost Delivery and Morale (SQDCM) and through personal review of related activities to insure the meeting of established goals, objectives and targets Manage, delegate and oversee the overall facility upkeep including an active preventative maintenance program on all facilities, material handling equipment, fixtures and computer hardware Manage, delegate and oversee overall employee relations activities including a health and safety work environment that adheres with Corporate and OSHA guidelines and requirements Serve as Daimler’s representative with customers on parts related issues as well as in the community in local civic and community affairs to assure the continuance of good customer and community relations Responsible for coaching, development, training, retention and performance management of employees and the assurance of facility compliance to all Corporate and Human Resources policies and procedures and related provisions Knowledge You Should Bring BS/BA and 8 years of professional experience (or 3 years of direct relevant experience Overall strong business acumen including knowledge of accounting, inventory control, budgeting and procurement processes applied within a warehouse or manufacturing operation required Proficiency in Microsoft Office required Strategic thinking and ability to develop a long term vision and translate into short/intermediate term tactical and operational objectives required Exceptional leadership skills required, including ability to motivate, develop and instill accountability with both shop floor and salaried employees required Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills required An attached resume is required Exceptional Candidates Might Have Master's Degree preferred Knowledge of distribution or manufacturing operations processes such as receiving inbound material, warehousing principles and techniques, shipping – outbound and all related systems and tools preferred Knowledge of Lean methodology and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques preferred #LI-AC1 #LI-Onsite Where We Work This position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)- Grand Prairie, TX US How We Collaborate To continue building a great place to work for all, we are committed to a culture that creates flexibility and encourages a supportive working environment that achieves the needs of our business and employees.
