Job Description
Mayfield Ice Cream in Homewood, AL has an immediate opening for a Stand-up Forklift Operator on 1st Shift. As a Forklift Operator, you will operate a standup forklift and / or other powered industrial equipment in our freezer warehouse to move or transfer ice cream products, pallets and other materials onto trailers or other locations within the facility.

Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Forklift Operator Certification preferred; stand-up forklift experience required
Experience operating a cherry picker, high-reach lift or double-high-reach lift a plus
Experience using an RF scan gun preferred
Basic math skills required
Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred
Be able to effectively work in a team environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to understand and complete required documentation according to SSOPs
Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays
Must be able to sit and / or stand and / or drive for virtually the entire shift
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs or assist others in lifting
Must be able to work in a cold, freezer environment where temperatures vary between 28 to -30 degrees Fahrenheit (PPE including protective freezer suits are provided)
May be exposed to allergens
