What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer 2025 Production Intern position at Dairy Farmers of America?
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
- Learn plant processes and become familiar with all product value streams at Portales.
- Drive improvement projects identified by the production manager, targeting plant top 3 losses/initiatives for 2025.
- Review and identify opportunities for standard work across shifts within the department.
- Identify, organize, and drive 1 focused-improvement opportunity that improves either safety, quality, or efficiency.
- Spend some time in other plant departments to gain a holistic understanding of how a plant operates.
- 5S in the production areas.
The qualified candidate will be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a degree focus in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Ag/Dairy Science or related field.
