We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Cake Decorator to join our team at Dairy Queen in Pahrump, NV! If you have a passion for decorating cakes and love the idea of working with ice cream, we want to meet you.
Position Overview
As our Cake Decorator, your main responsibilities will be:
- Decorating ice cream cakes based on seasonal themes, custom orders, and DQ designs
- Creating clean, attractive writing and classic decorations like roses, borders, and other popular styles
- Learning to operate our edible image printer to add printed designs
- Packaging cakes for sale and helping to maintain a full cake display case
- Restocking ice cream in the machines as needed for cake production
- Cleaning your own workspace and dishes after each shift
You will not be responsible for any other Dairy Queen duties outside of cake decorating.
We’ll train you on our ice cream cake process — you bring the artistic skill!
Our current team is trained in making and decorating cakes, but we’re looking to bring in a higher level of experience and design capability. This role will also alleviate some of the stress on our team by allowing them to focus more on day-to-day operations, while you take the lead on cake production and decoration.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of cake decorating experience
- Portfolio required (photos of past cake work)
- Ability to write neatly and create clean designs
- Skilled in piping flowers and decorative borders
- Willing to learn our process and use the edible image printer
- Reliable and organized with strong attention to detail
Schedule & Pay
- $16/hour
- 3–4 shifts per week, around 3–6 hours per shift
- Flexible schedule, but must be consistent enough to stay on top of orders and keep our display case stocked
