What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst position at Dairy State Bank?
Position Summary:
This position will have the responsibility to provide support for the lending activities of the bank including preparing financial analysis and support for the administration of loan accounts, supporting lenders in maintenance of credit files and assisting in the preparation of credit applications and, when needed and in conjunction with loan officer(s), communicate with current and potential customers to obtain information needed for loan requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather financial information from current and potential borrowers.
Enter financial information into the financial analysis program chosen by the bank.
Review output of financial analysis program for accuracy and completeness.
Review credit files to make sure necessary financial information is on hand for applicable credit. Work with lending staff to obtain missing items. Ensure a file is complete prior to submitting for loan review.
Provide administrative support to loan officers including typing, correspondence, filing, faxing scanning and copying.
Assist lenders with preparation of loan applications.
Perform additional duties as necessary to support efficient and effective loan functions.
Gain knowledge and skills leading to the ability to perform loan reviews.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance or Associate’s Degree and background in lending and/or analytical experience. Previous banking experience preferred. Must have strong communication skills both written and oral, keyboarding and composition skills essential. Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills, personal computer and word processing/spreadsheet experience and the ability to learn new software programs. Work accurately with minimal supervision and in a team environment. Uphold confidentiality on and off the job. Punctuality and professional appearance/demeanor are expected of all Dairy State Bank employees. Must be trustworthy and maintain confidentiality. This position requires a lot of close vision – reading, calculations and data entry.
