POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director - Industry Relations, the Coordinator – Dairy Safety & Training is key in advancing dairy workforce training and safety initiatives across the region. The position focuses on equipping on-farm dairy employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance workplace safety, productivity, and compliance. Working closely with the Idaho Dairymen’s Association and Dairy West’s Stakeholder Engagement team, this role helps bridge industry expertise with practical, farm-level applications.
Beyond direct training delivery, this position fosters relationships with dairy producers, processors, and industry partners to develop and implement effective training programs that align with industry standards and consumer expectations. By guiding best practices, safety protocols, and workforce development, the role contributes to a more skilled, informed, and safety-conscious dairy workforce in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers and oversees training programs for dairy workers, processors and industry partners, ensuring alignment with industry and regulatory safety expectations
- Collaborates with university and industry experts to create verifiable training programs that enhance workforce competency
- Engages with dairy managers and industry stakeholders to facilitate knowledge transfer and best practices in worker training and safety
- Leads and documents the implementation of training programs for participating dairies
- Supports cooperatives, processors and allied industry staff in effectively delivering training programs
- Participates in educational meetings to strengthen dairy producers' and management teams' understanding of worker training and safety
- Works collaboratively across the organization to align training initiatives with broader organizational goals
- Identifies and implements innovative solutions to enhance training effectiveness and industry collaboration
- Adjusts training delivery, project timelines and stakeholder engagement strategies to align with evolving industry needs
- Drives the successful execution of projects and initiatives by overseeing timelines, resources and stakeholder collaboration
- Coordinates and leads the implementation of Dairy West programs and events
- Manages competing priorities while ensuring stakeholder, partner and organizational needs are met
- Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational objectives
- Suggests solutions to meet organizational needs in innovative ways
- Adapts work tasks, steps and schedules to meet changing priorities

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, dairy or animal science, agriculture business or economics, or other related field; or a high school diploma plus three years of experience in a field that supports the responsibilities of the position
- Knowledge of the basic principles of adult education and experience delivering training and safety education and/or on-farm worker management content preferred
- Bilingual (read, write, and speak) in English and Spanish required
- Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and a customer relationship management (CRM) system
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
- Good project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of audiences - producers, processors, allied industries, and universities
- Valid driver’s license required
- Accommodate training sessions with dairy operations that may require early mornings or evenings
Salary : $43,474 - $69,558
