Our Mississippi manufacturing facility, located on the beautiful Gulf Coast, in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi is seeking a Chemical Operator.
Position Summary:
The Chemical Operator monitors and controls the Melt Phase and Solid Stated Polymerization Process in a continuous manufacturing process environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitors operating parameters by reading gauges, instruments, and meters. Compares readings to known requirements, logs information, and takes action as necessary.
- Collects and submits appropriate samples for analysis. Uses analytical and/or process trends to determine whether re-sampling or process adjustments are needed.
- Responds and reacts to any alarms within operating area.
- Utilizes job knowledge, equipment specification sheets, and operating procedures to monitor and make adjustments to the process.
- Starts up and shuts down process equipment using written procedures.
- Knowledge in operation and purpose of equipment such as reactors, pumps, condensers, filters, compressors, and dryers in order to maintain operation of a top quality facility.

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Associates Degree in a related technical vocational college or higher and/or 2 year’s chemical operator/handler experience at a manufacturing plant.
- Possess good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, pressures, and computerized controls systems is desired.
- Possess good interpersonal skills in communication, listening, and good safety practices
- Proficent with computers
- Strong initiative, team player, and positive attitude
This job requires working 12 hour rotating shifts while standing for long periods of time. Employees must be able to work scheduled (planned) days and unscheduled (unplanned/short notice) hours on off days as needed to meet business needs.
