What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician Hourly position at Dakkota Integrated Systems?
Key Areas of Responsibility (Answerable for the following end results)
- Ensure all department personnel adhere to all safety rules and report on unsafe conditions as soon as reasonably possible.
- Train new team members in all aspects of their assignments.
- Communicate changes and/or adjustments to the job functions to all team members.
- Coordinate activities of material associates, operating equipment, including on time shipment of the product. Be aware of internal and customer banks and truck window times.
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards using all resources and support available.
- Ensure that all replenishment sheets are reviewed and Communicated to the proper team members, to make sure that the product is here on time and in the correct quantity.
- Follow up with the team member’s that started the replenishment sheet. (Production, Materials).
- Communicate with team leads and members of the department, by continually updating them on all information affecting the efficient and safe operations within the department.
- Accurately and promptly complete all paperwork associated with the position.
- Coordinate the material handling of production part rework activity, as needed.
- Provide support as needed, and lead the team in a manner that promotes morale, trust and teamwork.
- Ensure employee-training records / matrix is updated and maintained.
- Assure cycle counts are completed, and stock is on hand for production builds.
- Adhere to all company, state and federal health and safety regulations.
- Assist Supervisors and Department Managers, as needed.
- Document all activities as required.
- Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
- Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Limits of Authority
- Advise Supervisor of those situations that may pose a significant risk to the program, product assurance, facilities, and employee safety or customer satisfaction results.
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process & systems.
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or system.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through the appropriate channels and verify implementation.
- Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency is corrected.
- Assist in the disposition of product to determine conformance.
Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years related experience in material handling in an automotive / manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written, mathematical and analytical skills.
- Possess good technical understanding of processes and machinery.
- Possess color and / or appearance testing approval for product inspection.
- Demonstrate organizational, leadership and communication skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Commercial Class A driver’s license preferred.
- Fork-lift operator license certification.

Health, Safety and Physical Demand Requirements
- Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.
- 50 pounds lifting.
- Able to tolerate standing for 8 hours or more.
- Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, griping, grasping and reaching 11-64% of work day
- Hand and eye coordination.
