Description
The Inventory Supervisor will oversee and manage all aspects of inventory management at our truck bed manufacturing facility. This role ensures the accurate tracking, ordering, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods. The Inventory Supervisor will also develop and implement processes to optimize inventory control and improve operational efficiency while supporting production schedules and maintaining quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems.
- Perform regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and investigate variances.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of inventory items to minimize damage or loss.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures.
- Identify inefficiencies in current practices and recommend improvements to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with the production and procurement teams to forecast inventory needs and plan accordingly.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train inventory staff, including material handlers and warehouse associates.
- Delegate tasks and ensure team adherence to inventory control procedures.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching for team members.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with production, procurement, and shipping departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports for management review.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory-related issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure inventory control practices comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the warehouse.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and fumes.
