JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota Bodies is looking for a highly motivated individual to design utility and service truck bodies utilizing SolidWorks 3D modeling software.

Responsibilities:
- Gain knowledge in modeling sheet metal parts and assemblies in SolidWorks
- Work with fellow designers to learn proper design methods and standards
- Design bodies that meet customer specifications
- Communicate with customers and implement requested design changes
- Communicate changes to our costing team to ensure accurate pricing
- Create clear and concise body drawings for our production team
- Create part drawings for use by vendors
- Create bills of materials for our purchasing team
- Work with the production team on build efficiencies on large quantity orders
- Gain knowledge of how shop equipment abilities/limitations affect part designs
- Work with our quality team to resolve warranty claims to customers’ satisfaction
- Be reliable and work diligently towards meeting our production schedule

Qualifications
- Self-motivated and reliable
- Able to quickly learn and apply standard practices
- Able to manage multiple projects and tasks at once
- Strong communication skills and a positive, teambuilding attitude
- Able to receive and utilize constructive criticism
- 2 year degree or equivalent experience in drafting/designing/engineering
- Preferred but not required to be versed in SolidWorks 3D modeling
- Preferred but not required to have experience with any 2D drafting software
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
