Mortgage Underwriter

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and assessing mortgage loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role demands a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to make sound decisions based on comprehensive data analysis.

Duties

• Review and analyze loan applications, credit reports, and financial statements to determine borrower eligibility.
• Conduct cash flow analysis to assess the borrower's ability to repay the loan.
• Evaluate tax documents and financial modeling to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Process loans efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Perform data collection and forecasting to support underwriting decisions.
• Utilize financial software to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
• Conduct equity research and quantitative research as needed to support underwriting assessments.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues related to loan processing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mortgage underwriting or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cash flow analysis, tax regulations, loan processing, and portfolio management.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
• DE/Direct Endorsement preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
