BUYER & PROCUREMENT ANALYST:
Dakota Electric Association is seeking a Buyer & Procurement Analyst to manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services that support our operations. This role is responsible for evaluating supplier proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective, reliable sourcing while mitigating risks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze supplier proposals, contracts, and pricing structures to maximize value and compliance.
- Develop and manage purchase orders, requisitions, and agreements.
- Maintain and track supplier performance, contracts, and procurement documentation in an electronic repository.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure ERP transactions are accurate and procurement processes run smoothly.
- Support cost-saving initiatives, inventory management, and material sourcing strategies.
- Oversee corporate credit card programs, office supply procurement, and vendor relationships.
- Assist with insurance renewals, budgeting, and reporting.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary Range: $64,895 - $103,914 annually
- Target Compensation: Approximately $84,353 annually and will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, procurement, or a related field (required).
- Eight years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Five years of experience in cost accounting, procurement methods, or a similar analytical role (required).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required).
- Experience with ERP systems and BI reporting tools (preferred).
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CPIM (Certification of Production and Inventory Management)
- APP (Accredited Purchasing Practitioner)
- CCA (Certified Cost Accountant)
- CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager)
- Industry Knowledge:
- Experience in electric power transmission and distribution (preferred).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Buyer & Procurement Analyst is expected to work extra hours when the workload requires during emergencies for assistance with obtaining and issuing materials and tools, and for out-of-town meetings and conferences.
The nature of this position will require extensive internal and external contacts.
This position works primarily inside a climate-controlled building and will require familiarity with operations in several departments and frequent visits to the warehouse, pole yard and possibly field locations within Dakota Electric’s service territory. Travel may be required to attend meetings or for training.
