Job Summary:
Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, installation and alteration of all slicing (RTE side), packaging (RTE side), printing or any equipment associated with the production of this facility
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluids levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install and / or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipes systems and pluming, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Record maintenance and repair work performance and the cost of the work.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Dismantle devices to gain to and remote defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawing, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematics diagrams.
Requirements & Abilities:
- Some heavy lifting is required.
- Use of hard hats is required in specific areas.
- Ear protection is required in all areas.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
Skills & knowledge:
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Advanced skills (_Journeyman level_) required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems, and PLC programming.
