Overview
A leading Maryland engineering firm is looking for a skilled Electrical Designer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in electrical design, who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working on a variety of projects. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for developing electrical system designs, creating technical drawings, and coordinating with engineers and other design professionals to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Responsibilities
🔹 Develop electrical system designs for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities
🔹 Create detailed drawings and schematics using Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and other design software
🔹 Assist in the selection of equipment, lighting, power distribution, and other electrical components
🔹 Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure project specifications are met
🔹 Review project documents and assist in preparing technical specifications and cost estimates
🔹 Ensure designs comply with building codes and industry standards
🔹 Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
✔ Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Design, Electrical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
✔ 3-7 years of experience in electrical design for buildings or facilities
✔ Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and other electrical design software
✔ Knowledge of NEC codes, lighting design, and power distribution
✔ Strong communication and collaboration skills
✔ Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Day-to-Day
🔹 Work alongside engineers and project teams to develop detailed electrical designs
🔹 Draft and update electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications
🔹 Coordinate with clients and contractors to address design questions and modifications
🔹 Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry best practices
🔹 Participate in project meetings and contribute to design solutions
