Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Engineer to join our team. The individual in this role will work under the supervision of the Project Manager to ensure that our construction projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Senior Project Engineer will collaborate with construction staff, stakeholders, and design teams to review plans, technical documents, and project-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Assist in bid package development and baseline scheduling
- Coordinate and track special inspection documentation
- Create and manage RFIs from the field to the architect/engineer of record
- Maintain and update project plans and records
- Process and track submittals from subcontractors/vendors for approval
- Organize and maintain project files, including subcontracts, bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built/closeout documents
- Assist in procuring building permits
- Document and distribute weekly project meeting notes
- Review subcontractor change orders and prepare recommendations for the Project Manager
- Provide field support to construction teams to ensure contract and quality compliance
- Engage with project stakeholders and construction clients
- Uphold and promote company core values
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Understanding of construction project plans and specifications
- 1–2 years of construction experience preferred
- Proficiency in construction management/scheduling software and computer applications is a plus
- Background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) preferred
Day-to-day
- Safely navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders, moving around scaffolding, and walking on uneven terrain
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships at all levels
- Operate technology and computer-based systems
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and independently
