Analyst / Associate - Real Estate Equity and Credit Acquisitions

Position: Analyst / Associate, Equity and Credit Acquisitions

Dalan is excited to hire a full-time Acquisitions Analyst or Associate who will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the investment process and can expect to be staffed on multiple assignments. The Position will assume integral roles on the Investment Team and be intimately involved with the evaluation, due diligence, and financing of real estate equity and debt transactions, with a focus on multifamily assets.

The ideal candidate has 1 – 4 years of experience working in real estate multifamily acquisitions (preferably at an investment firm but open to brokerage, investment banking, etc.), and is proficient in underwriting real estate transactions through Excel models, conducting due diligence, producing investment memorandum materials, and coordinating with limited partners.  

This position will provide a candidate with a great opportunity for continued development within a fast-growing company while gaining exposure to a wide array of real estate asset classes, markets, and verticals, ranging from core equity acquisitions to distressed debt purchases. The position will report to the Acquisitions Team and is located in the New York City Office.

Responsibilities:

·       Underwrite, evaluate, and analyze potential investment opportunities using Excel models.

·       Conduct comprehensive market research and perform a detailed deal-level due diligence.

·       Draft investment memos and create presentations for internal review and for strategic partners.

·       Assist in all aspects of deal transactions including assisting all teams at Dalan.

·       Prepare closing statements and perform distribution waterfall calculations.

·       Produce quarterly investor reporting and annual valuation assessments.

·       Interface with brokers, legal counsel, market participants, potential partners, and current investors.

·       Have a willingness to work on both Equity and Credit deals and focus on multiple deals at one time.

Qualifications:

·       1 – 4 years of relevant work experience in multifamily real estate acquisitions.

·       Prior New York City underwriting experience is required.

·       Proficiency in Excel is a must and knowledge of using ARGUS is a plus.

·       Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.

·       Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

·       Ability to create excellent work product for institutional investors.

·       Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics or business preferred.

Compensation:

Compensation is a market competitive base salary plus annual bonus commensurate with performance along with Dalan’s suite of employee benefits.
