The Shipping and Receiving Utility is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support warehouse and inventory activities. This role includes shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This also requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload and load shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as necessary.
- Accurately label, sort, and store materials in designated areas.
- Maintain inventory records and assist in cycle counts or full inventory audits.
- Ensure the warehouse and receiving areas remain clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies related to shipping, receiving, and material handling.
- Complete lift truck checklists at designated times; checklists must be filled out daily and turned in weekly.
- Follow all safety and 5S rules.
- Operate single pole lifts, double pole lifts, squeeze lifts, and forklifts.
- Complete trailer inspection audits.
- Load and unload trucks with raw materials and finished goods:
- Support in keeping the plant organized by understanding the correct location of each material and continuously staging materials in the correct location.
- Assist in other warehouse-related duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or logistics preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred but not required).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to drive a forklift and move materials as needed.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods in the warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
