Pay: $50,000 - $70,000 salary plus commission

Hiring Locations: Southington Showroom

Dalene Flooring Carpet One has been family-owned and operated since 1949 and is the largest independent flooring retailer in Connecticut. Our mission is to be a floor covering resource that meets the needs and expectations of our customers while creating an environment where quality, integrity, and teamwork are vehicles for success.

At Dalene Flooring Carpet One, being a Retail Sale Associate is about creating relationships with your customers. Those relationships are about engaging your customers and learning their interests and tastes to specify the best products so they can achieve the look and function they desire for their project. Excellent customer service skills are necessary to create the right customer experience.

We have showrooms in West Hartford, Manchester, Southington, Torrington Enfield, South Windsor , along with our Outlet Centers in Hartford, Torrington and Manchester. Currently, we are looking for Retail Sales Associates to join our Southington showroom team.

Requirements of the Retail Sales Associate

· Consult and assist customers with flooring selections.

· Interact with customers in our showroom and in-home visits.

· Going to customer locations to measure/estimate projects.

· Build lasting relationships with your customers through follow-up communication.

· Constantly seek new product knowledge to be an expert resource for your customer.

· Perform store functions to include merchandising, upkeep, and price adjustments.

· Salesmanship, strongly devoted to educating, and instilling confidence in our customer base.

· Creating sales orders, collecting payments, and/or obtaining credit authorization.

Qualifications of the Retail Sales Associate

· Associate degree or equivalent work experience

· Retail sales experience a plus

· Flooring retail experience preferred.

· Decorating or design experience a plus

· Math, writing and computer skills in MS Office Software

· Reliable transportation for off-site customer locations

· Excellent oral and written skills

· Good time management skills

· Professional, dependable, accountable, and punctual

Schedule:

· Retail business hours are 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, weekends and select holidays
