Controller Position – Commercial Real Estate Firm in West Palm

A well-established commercial real estate services and investment firm is seeking a Controller to join its corporate team. With decades of experience, the firm specializes in acquisitions, development, leasing, property management, and corporate services across all commercial property sectors. As part of a global network, it also offers real estate investment opportunities for accredited investors.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting and reporting for commercial properties.
• Mentor and support staff accountants.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, journal entries, and sales tax returns.
• Manage property accounting, including CAM reconciliations, budgets, lender compliance, cash flow reports, and acquisitions/dispositions.
• Review accounts payable/receivable.
• Assist with fund accounting, corporate financials, tax return reviews, and variance analysis.
• Supervise and guide the accounting team.
• Support accounting system operations as needed.
• Identify process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analyses for leadership.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
• 2 years in a leadership/mentorship role.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s or CPA preferred).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Yardi experience a plus).
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
