Fund Controller - Boston MA - Private Credit
Our team is working with a leading credit fund based in Boston looking to hire a Fund Controller to their growing team. The Fund Controller will be responsible for overseeing multiple funds, the team, and will report to the CFO. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting functions and will coordinate with various stakeholders both internally and externally.

The Fund Controller will be responsible for overseeing multiple funds, the team, and will report to the CFO. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting functions and will coordinate with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
- Overall Ownership of Private Funds: Lead and manage financial reporting, year-end audits, and quarterly reporting for private funds.
- Collaborate with the Investor Product Team to prepare quarterly investor letters, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Oversee the internal operations and finance team, as well as manage relationships with third-party administrators.
- Conduct thorough reviews of funds across various jurisdictions, working closely with the Tax and Compliance teams to address any tax or compliance implications.
- Review capital allocation, incentive fees, and fund NAV, ensuring that the NAV package is accurate and complete.
- Supervise and approve fund expenses and invoices, maintaining financial integrity and accountability.
- Collaborate with the executive team to evaluate and enhance processes and systems, driving operational efficiency.
- Engage with auditors, administrators, and custodians to ensure that all fund-related aspects are handled correctly and professionally.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Tax, Investor Relations, and Operations, to ensure comprehensive fund management.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and changes in financial regulations to anticipate and address potential impacts on fund operations.
- 11 years total experience in finance roles of increasing responsibility and scope at world-class organizations with fund accounting, tax, operations, controls, and financial management knowledge.
- Experience building, improving, and leading finance teams is preferred. Strong relationship management skills are desired.
- Experience in asset management with direct lending and Mezz loan strategies and exposure to various jurisdictions is preferred.
- Top academic (i.e., BS or BA from a well-regarded institution) as well as professional credentials including an MBA, CFA, or CPA are preferred.
Salary : $225,000
