As a Shift Leader, you will help Dali Crepes provide an amazing experience for every guest. You'll ensure we deliver on the fundamentals: great food and service while also creating a welcoming environment. You will anticipate guests' needs and make them feel valued.
What You'll Do:
As a Restaurant Shift Leader, you'll ensure smooth and efficient operations during your shift while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Restaurant Shift leader key responsibilities:
Shift Preparation & Team Leadership
• Arrive 15-30 minutes early to prepare for your shift.
• Review the schedule, assign team members to stations, and hold a brief pre-shift meeting to communicate daily goals and priorities.
• Ensure all team members are present, arranging for replacements if needed.
• Make sure each team member takes a break at a strategic time that allows for seamless operations.
Facility & Inventory Management
• Conduct thorough facility inspections to ensure all equipment's cleanliness, organization, and functionality (crepe makers, coffee machines, etc.).
• Verify that safety equipment is in place and restrooms are well-maintained.
• Manage inventory by checking stock levels, reporting shortages, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of food items.
• Review each station's checklist to ensure all tasks are completed at the designated times.
Operational Excellence
• Confirm tables and chairs are arranged according to the floor plan.
• Ensure menus are clean and available.
• Verify the point of sale (POS) system is operational.
• Unlock doors, disarm security systems, and prepare for opening.
• Oversee the service flow, manage wait times, and ensure the kitchen maintains quality and speed.
• Monitor sales and adjust staffing as needed to optimize efficiency.
Customer Service & Team Management
• Champion exceptional customer service, setting the standard for your team.
• Address customer complaints or special requests promptly and professionally.
• Assist in resolving any service disruptions.
• Monitor staff performance, provide support and coaching, and ensure adherence to uniform and grooming standards.
• Handle staff conflicts or issues with professionalism and fairness.
• Help team members improve on feedback that was left by customers.
Safety, Compliance & Closing Procedures
• Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Conduct pre-closing tasks, including cleaning and organizing dining and kitchen areas.
• Perform end-of-shift tasks, such as securing cash, completing financial reports, and shutting down equipment.
• Conduct a final walkthrough to ensure the restaurant is clean and secure before closing.
Communication & Continuous Improvement
• Hold a brief post-shift debrief with your team to acknowledge successes, provide feedback, and discuss areas for improvement.
• Maintain open communication with management and team members.
• Gather feedback from staff and customers to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
• Record any incidents or notes for the next Restaurant Shift leader.
What we are looking ….(Minimum Qualifications)
• Availability: You must be available to work any shift from 8:00 a.m. to close, five days a week, including weekends and holidays, with a rotating Sunday schedule. This includes mid-shifts and closing shifts.
• Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, treating patrons with a welcoming and personalized approach.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and documentation skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively train and motivate employees.
• Time Management: Proven time management skills and accuracy to handle multiple duties and prepare reports according to established schedules.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
● Certification: Need to pass training for all stations.
