Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Logistics Driver to join our team. The Logistics Driver performs general driving and hauling duties, following daily pre-determined delivery schedules to any of our four retail ReStores and scheduled pick-up schedules from local donors in the Dallas area. This is a part time role, Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
Essential Duties
Operate Habitat ReStore vehicles and complete scheduled donation pickups.
Load, unload, and move furniture and other donated items with care, ensuring that donations arrive in good condition.
Attend training regarding merchandise value and acceptability.
Ensure compliance with safe driving standards and accident procedures.
Assist Warehouse staff with moving merchandise to Retail Sales floor and Warehouse.
Perform general cleaning of vehicles and monitor minor maintenance such as fluid levels, tires, temperature, and fuel.
Ability to follow directions and map routes.
Report any mechanical issues promptly and coordinate necessary repairs with management.
Follow instructions from the Donations Coordinator related to driving routes and pick up times.
Safely store and care for store hand Trucks, carts, straps and moving supplies.
Skills
Demonstrate an ability to drive a 26-foot flatbed truck
Apply good customer service and demonstrate self-motivation
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively and courteously with a diverse workforce and customer base.
Must be available at a min 4 days per week and occasional Saturdays.
Qualifications
Valid Texas Driver's license; CDL preferred but no required
Must possess an acceptable driving record in the state of Texas
Must be able to lift and carry heavy items, up to 75lbs.
Must be able to work independently and effectively manage time.
Able to bend and climb in and out of trucks on a regular basis
