What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Project Specialist position at Dallas Area Rapid Transit?
General Summary :
The Maintenance Project Specialist leads the development of project plans, including methodology, resource requirements, timelines, priorities, and budget-impact projects, for DARTs Fleet Maintenance and its six Divisions : East Dallas, Central Support, Body Shop, South Oak Cliff, Northwest, and Non-Revenue Vehicle (NRV).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensures an appropriately detailed project plan is developed and managed throughout the project's life cycle, identifying Business Objectives and Scope, Risk / Issue control, Schedule including resourcing and milestones, budget, and effective Sponsor and Stakeholder management.
- Assists and supports making system / process / procedural recommendations based on review, research, and analysis. Updates technical specifications and statements of work (SOW).
- Provides support performing material data analysis to improve asset management.
- Assists in developing improvements to established safety and maintenance programs using the configuration management processes.
- Oversees and reviews studies necessary to resolve quality, reliability, maintainability, safety, and equipment or system performance issues.
- Participates in and / or submits engineering modifications test criteria, plans, and procedures.
- Reviews federal, state, and local laws and engineering / technical guidelines affecting DART maintenance and operations. Develops and approves programs necessary to address engineering needs.
- Acts as a resource to and a liaison between the division and other DART departments and external stakeholders regarding engineering technical support and related issues.
- Assists in developing and monitoring project budgets and preparing budgetary cost estimates.
- Acts as DART representative for coordination, quality assurance, and monitoring of construction projects.
- Remains current on new industry trends, methods, and technology.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilties Required :
Note : An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums, excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
Working Conditions :
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
