Brief Description
Directs the operations of the Intake & Document Imaging and Release & Warrant sections of the Data Management Unit to achieve departmental goals and ensure the integrity and compliance of all records with statutes and County policy. Management Scope: Directs two (2) assistant directors and generally a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. Responsible for approximately $3.8 million in operating budget expenditures.
Detailed Description
Directs, plans, and organizes the administration and operation of the Data Management Unit to include developing and implementing processes related to TCIC/NCIC, TDC sentencing and time computation, warrant status, billing information of contract prisoners, bond settings, clearance releases, detention orders, victim notification, and other related information. Reviews and delegates personnel functions and provides direction to staff, to include communicating assignments, reviewing procedures, establishing priorities, ensuring maintenance and productivity of workloads and reviewing disciplinary actions. Communicates and acts as a liaison with other department heads, elected officials, courts, attorneys, other staff and the general public to resolve problems, provide assistance, and plan and organize projects. Directs the revisions of job descriptions and job duties, develops and implements standard operating procedures, to include criminal justice and other jail management records maintained by the department. Develops goals and objectives, while ensuring the maximum efficiency of the department. Initiates the preparation and submission of the annual budget, while collaborating efforts with the Sheriff’s Office Management Services Division and Office of Budget & Evaluation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education, Experience and Training: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Management, or in a job related field of study. Four (4) years of professional work related experience, including two (2) years of management experience. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Mandatory drug test prior to and during employment. Requires successful completion of a polygraph and extensive background investigation and is subject to random, unannounced drug/alcohol testing. Physical/Environmental Requirements: Standard office environment inside the jail.
